FML – More MTT shafting

There isnt anyone who likes a bad beat story but this one is comin anyway! I am deffo gonna take this MTT down one day but this is my latest soul destroyin beat in it. The tourney is the $7.50 turbo on stars an averages about 1200 runners an this chip leader pot was with 15 left an $1.7k FTW. The guy was a maniac as cogs will tell you because he was railing. It was obvious he was isolating super wide with ATo being pretty much the top of his range in that spot, he had showed down some very suspect hands. So sick.

Looks like a decent month . . .

£440 profit for the month which I’ll close now as I’m in work at 5am and will not be playing much if at all tomorrow.
Was a bit the worse for wear when I played and did a blog post Saturday. Reckon I went $130 approx down before winning one for $288.
Yesterday just played one for $54 and a couple of KO’s and today 2 for 6 KO’s and a 2nd.
Admittedly its probably not going to be sustainable but I’ll take it tyvm.
Going down to Devon Thursday night til Sunday and though I’ll defo be taking the laptop I’ll be strung up by my nads if I play too much.
Hope everythings okay with everyone else . .

Joke –

Two women were talking.
“Do you look at your Husbands face when you’re having sex?” asked the 1st woman.
“I did once and he looked really angry.” Replied the 2nd.
“Why angry?” asked the 1st
“Because he was watching through the window!!”

Not the best I’ll admit.

I can BLOG AGAIN!!!

Apart from being my usual lazy assed self, I have had a poor few months on the computer front, tha lap top went to lappie heaven (Not my local strip club!) and somehow I have been blocked getting on to blog at work sigh, it just wouldn’t sign in, something to do with cookies?? Although I’m up and running at home now, I always find other things to do than blog @ home . . . Red Tube, T.V, trying on the missus’ underwear, you know just normal stuff. (Joking obv!!! I really don’t watch that much T.V.) . . . Plus I wouldn’t want the missus noseying in on ye old blog, this way serious strife lies.

So after a chat with my old work I.T. pal, he suggested a little something and tried it this morning and bing-feckin-go . . . Back in business. I can imagine the fist pump chair spins across the country . . . nay the world, as this is read . . . .

Anyways, I will endevour to recap on a topsy turvey couple of months, in the next few posts.

My last post in regard the Team Event. First of all it was an honour to pull on the Raise the River polo and thanks to Mik for organising it all, especially the fantastic team pic to WP Captain! It was great meeting up with the guys for the weekend. I think as a team we performed exceptionally well, I certainly didn’t see many other teams drinking as much (AWOP aside, well No Cash and also Mr Devlin I still owe you a pint, nice to meet you) so wp guys, plaudits to Snake who with a 5 bet pre with 54s I think (or a similar strong holding) got someone to lay Queens, who said poker and alcohol don’t mix. As for the poker as a whole, we had two or three solid results and some serious run bad on day one, how I didn’t stack someone when I flopped quad 8′s and he’d flopped 10′s full I’ll never know, he said when a king hit the turn he was worried I had pocket kings! Yeah whatevs nit heaven, it was early on and Mair aside no one seemed to have much in the way of balls and it was really softly softly stuff until the blinds/antes started to bite, well certainly on my table. I actually was pretty much a no show on day two, a mysterious ahem bug struck me down and I was left recovering in the hotel once I had found it on the Sunday morning!! . . . Suffice to say on the Saturday night, my first spin on roulette in years saw my birthday hit when I had it nicely surrounded, I beat a hasty retreat to the cashier shortly after, shoes were lost, shots were flipped for and Brazillian milfs were unsuccessfully chatted up. (Put that down to her poor English eh Dave?) It was a cracking day/night/blur, I’d say weekend, but I’ve had to rely on other Blogs to fill the gaps in!! WP Krons who showed his APAT pedigree yet again, following his 2nd place in Bolton last year, with a solid highest finish for us.

Ends.

You only sing when you’re winning

There’s a chant sung at soccer grounds by opposition fans “You only sing when you’re winning”, and now the chant for this blog could easily become “you only post when you’re winning”. In my defense I played not a single hand between 5th feb and 15 march because work/life was getting me down and I knew I wouldn’t play well. Since then I’ve gradually got back into things and now am back on my virtual online games.

You can see from the graph what a downswing looks like, most of which was in the last two weeks of getting back into practice. It just goes to show how important playing regularly is. The recent upswing is from two 3rd places yesterday and today. Frustrating not to win them but sometimes the cards refuse to cooperate !

1st week of elite

Hey Fish

Last week I was given the amazin opportunity of joining Rainmans elite team of students. We get to work super closely to the likes of Bodeye2, johnnyhilldo and not to mention the man himself MI_turtle. We also get the chance to go live in california an meet eveyone for a weeks intenseive training which is just going to be the nuts. Nicks been fantastic this week and is always on hand to answer questions about diffucult spots etc an how we could have played hands differently. Last night nick was 13 tablin MTT’s an still managed to find time to look at a spot from one of $12/180 FT/s.

One thing is I really feel alot more confident now when playing the $12s and I genuinely feel like the best player at most final tables I make. I am learning to jab my way through them alot more an turning alot more FT appearances into wins which feels good. I am also mixin low buy in MTT’s an the daily $7.50 turbo on stars hs got my name all over it soon. My last deep run I lost a big pot with 16/1125 left. My exit hand was sick an for a chip leader pot an $1.4k for the win. 3 limpers an I punish them by shoving with 18bb an AQs on the button, the SB & BB come along with A9s & JJ an the A9s flops the nutz an its gg me, FML.

Lastly can I just say a big congrats to the boss yesterday as after my session I railed him to victory on the $8+r Final Table. Its was so funny as down to 3 handed nick had 1million chips and the other 2 had 6mill and 5mill respectively. Nick asked did they wanna look at number an the chip leader (so confident he would win) said he wanted to take it down for his 1st 5 figure socre. Which ok is fair enough but you still have to win it against one of the best MTT players on stars haha, neeedless to say Nick politely wished them good luck the owned their souls an took it down.

Here’s my results monday to monday from my 1st week on the elite team. The results are nice but the easy part was doing it the hard part will be emulating it week in week out, but am gonna give it a good fucking go

Hey Guys

most reading this know the free online game but there will be an still is people reading who think they are unlucky, online pokers rigged, its impossible to beat that many fish etc etc so am gonna stick my neck on the line an admit up until 4th jan 2010 I knew a little about this virtual game maybe a bit more than a little but this graph will show me I didnt know how to make money, so really I knew nothing because thats what this game online is about

The arrow is a little out but it basically indicates when I met Nick an his team and before that was about the 3200 virtual online games mark and at -$1.5k in 18 months, after it well you can see for yourself, 2500 virtual games at +$4.5k in just over 3 months but yeah pokers about luck, online pokers rigged an I was the unluckiest person alive until I actually learned the virtual online games an all that chaged!!

LOCKDOWN!

By admin on Sunday, March 28, 2010

So right now I don’t feel in much of a rush to get back up to the mid/high stakes fre online games. I’ll likely rock another month of $1/2 to iron out fundamental strategy, mindset and stuff and notch 100k confidence building hands. I also think that given I coach this limit it’d be great for my students and prospective students to get a look at an up to date graph of me playing in their online games.

I’m 10k hands away from my 50k minimum target for the month so the last 3 days are gonna be downtown grind central. Taking today off to relax then it’s a 3-day lockdown of grinding!

This Month and Next Month…
I’ve been pretty happy with my work-rate this month. I hit a few hitches with routine, mostly involving going out drinking on weeknights… but I feel like I’ve got that figured out better now. Starting again on Monday I’ll be aiming to get that routine nailed for the remainder of the month making it less of a struggle to get the hands in.

I think one of the main things I’ve learned this month is that it’s completely realistic for me to make around $8k/month putting in good volume at $1/2. I have pretty much zero risk too which is really refreshing right now after dealing with the swings of higher stakes game onlines. It’s reassuring to know that the option is available to drop down and still be able to make a good living.

Edging ever closer

I have had a bit of a poker marathin this weekend, a good deep run in the 80k ended when I raised on the button with KQ, BB re-raises, he has a stack so I know he could be moving with anything, after a bit of contemplation I call, and see a flop of 9 10 Q. Top pair, decent kicker, and a gut-shot, its enough for me to commit 70k in a pot about 50k. He only had fukin AQ, do you set it up stars…..???? LOL

Im gonna ship something big soon, either that or Im gonna go fukin insane!!

Next post I have 3 of the sickest hands I have had over the last month.

Good luck all…..

What The FUCK do I have to do!!!!!??????

Im ready for giving up, 6 hours work for that…….
