Sorry Ive been a lazy cunt, I havent stopped playing or anything or gone on a big downswing and gone busto! Just kinda got out of blogging and forgot about it really.

Well since my last post at the end of march, I did end up withdrawing $900 from my roll to part pay for a holiday to Cyprus and other suff. Since then I have been grinding my bankroll back up. over the past few months Ive made the $900 back. Ive been on a massive heater at the 2/180s and had some pretty decent scores in some scheduled mtts.I came pretty close actually in the $3r $60k gtd on stars, came 15/6000+ for $300 but obviously my exit hand was my AK v AJ aipf. Win that and I easy make the final table all with 4 figure cashes! fucking J on the flop.

2/180 stats/heater:

I think the heater in these does coincide with me starting to call alot lighter and take more notice to my stack size and other peoples before and around the money bubble.

Ive moved all my roll onto stars because it was doing my nut in all over the place and because Ive stopped playing cash theres no real need to be on any other site. So I’m just going to continue grinding the 2/180s and scheduled mtts for sometime.

Over the past few days Ive been thinking what I want from poker and obviously I’d love to be playing at a higher limit with my bankroll, feeling as easy and confidant as I do at the 2/180s but that’s not going to happen for a while I think. I mean the jump from the 2′s to the 12/180s is pretty big and the 7′s don’t fill. Maybe my other option is the 6/45′s. Ive played 45 mans before and its just a crap shoot and I feel that I would have to 8 table them at least and I’m not comfortable with that.

So my conclusion for the time being is that I’m just grinding the 2/180s to give me a very comfortable bankroll which enables me to play as many scheduled mtts as I want, which hopefully one day I might hit that big score.

anyway I’m going to try and update at least twice a month, nn.

Bankroll $1600

Well it didn’t go as well as I planned, lost about $10k on blackjack and roulette and about $5k on sports bets. I am really not bothered about losing the money although it would have been nice if I didn’t. What really pissed me off was how bad I was running. Every time I was building up my bets on blackjack to $250-$300 a hand I was getting sick hands like splits, double downs against dealers 5 and 6 showing and I was getting things like 20 and dealer would hit 21 on every crucial hand. What pissed me off the most was I just couldn’t win at all, you want at least some enjoyment out of spending your money. Each time I got a T everyone was getting 9s, 10s, aces etc I was getting 2s, 3s, 4s and having to hit and was busting all the time.

Oh well, didn’t play much poker there, got absolutely smashed one night and done about $400 in 5 mins on cash table then staggered off to the sports book to waste more money. On the 2nd night I ended up getting alcoholic poisoning, the bar tender was giving us near enough half pint shots of patron which is just ridiculous! Ended up waking up the next day with a sink full of sick lying fully clothed in bed and unable to move. Didn’t really drink much after that, 5 days later I had managed to drink 3 bud lights in a night.

Online poker has took a huge back seat this month from playing golf, going out for meals and getting drunk, world cup betting and vegas I have hardly played but I am still up enough to cover some losses and pay the bills. I will post a final update at the end of the month with profit or loss. One thing I never do when I am in Vegas is go the pool, mainly because I am fair skinned and burn really easy its pointless me sitting in 120 degree eat and just cooking myself alive. This time though I went to the palazzo pool a few times and loved it, if I go back there I will definitely be going to the pool every day. Some amazing sights to be seen there!

Anyways I basically need the argies to win the World Cup to get my losses back on it haha. If they win I fancy going to Thailand a few months earlier or going to Spain for a week or two for a golf trip.

When I was in Vegas all I wanted to do was come home, but now I am back home I realise how lucky I was to be out there and maybe should have tried to enjoy myself more rather than let the table free online games control my trip. The women in this country although there are some stunners are just miserable stuck up women who think they are too good for everyone. In Vegas these girls would be nothing not even 4s or 5s. Really is amazing how many beautiful women there is there and they are all friendly and not stuck up.

So my plan for next month is rebuilding to get a lot of funds together for Thailand and play loads of golf as I have just bought myself a new set of Callaway irons and Taylor Made Burner woods the difference it has made to my virtual online games already is unreal.

Always nice to catch up with Azi and Punterz as always and looking forward to the next trip next year.

Good luck at the tables ;)

World Cup Busto

I gave myself a rather small £50 quid loss limit on Betfair, playing at trading the world cup game onlines. I decided early on that if I lost £50 then I should stop, I lasted until the 3rd set of fre online games before it was gone, ironically if I had just put money on the end result and hadn’t messed around with greening up I would have still been in profit.

Still it was fun whilst it lasted.

I’ve played the odd virtual online games of pokes online, but my heart hasn’t really been in it. Not really sure if its the football that has taken over, the nice weather or that the online game has just run its course. I’m still enjoying reading updates on the WSOP around various blogs, forums and news sites and I’ve enjoyed the small online games over at the Ace of Clubs, but currently can’t be bothered with the high and lows of online play.

Been reading with interest, the blatchgate scandal on the blonde forum, crib notes here. Very shocking, just goes to show that if something sounds to be good to be true, it generally is.

Anyway, thats all from me for the time being. Cheers.

Why are raincoats yellow???? . . . .

Got out to Vegas about a week ago. The house is great and we’re all having a lot of fun.

First thing we did when we got here was flip for rooms. There are 9 of us but only 8 rooms(5 really nice and 3 decent ones). So two of us would have to share. And because I run awesome at flips, I get the pleasure of sharing my room. Thankfully its with one of my good buddies from Vancouver so it hasn’t been a problem. Not like I spend much time in the room anyways.

Oh and on top of that we went out for a nice dinner that night and I lost the credit card roulette for that too. Lost two $500+ roulettes thus far actually.

Thankfully my luck has shifted a bit. In my second tournament of the series, the Venetian deep stack extravaganza $2000 event, I managed to final table. My first live final table of a major event. I didn’t stick around long though as I busted in tenth place. The crazy thing about it is that my roommate ended up at the final table too! So random. He ended up finished 4th or 5th, and I had 5% of him so I made some more money. The cash itself was about $13,000, so I’m looking good so far.

I’ve played 2 WSOP events and haven’t made day 2 of either sadly. I’ll probably just play the $3000 triple chance and the main event and a bunch of cash in between. I’ve played so much poker this week, I’ll probably take it easy this weekend and get going again on Wednesday.

First poker in yonks

Hello friends, not played poker in aaaages, and hence not blogged in forever too. As you can surmise from my previous few posts, I’d been having a bit of a torrid time at the tables. Good news is that I now feel absolutely amazing. I had an awesome relaxing holiday in the Caribbean where I was able to completely reboot. It’s pretty obvious I needed it, because on reading back I don’t come across too well in my last few blogs! Words cannot describe how much I just love lying in the sun all day, reading and going for an occasional dip in the pool/sea. The rum is good too. I’ll let a few pics do my talking…

All taken with my Panasonic TZ65, which is a great camera and can be had for £150 now.

I mentioned I’d play some poker out there if the virtual games were good. Well they were, really really good. Unfortunately only at 1/2 but even so the mood never gripped me into wanting to play much at all anyway. I did play for a few hours total, once ran up a reasonable profit of just over a Benjamin between three of us, then left to enjoy the entertainment and pina coladas. Later in the week I then played again on my own when I had some dollars and not pesos on me, and promptly lose QQ vs TT preflop. Between those few hours live, and maybe 45 minutes online that’s all the poker I’ve played in a month.

I’ve also started a part time job since returning, working two and half days a week (on average) for a local newspaper office. I’ve completed my first “week” today, which was a bit of a learning process really and I don’t feel like I’m the whizz I thought I’d be just yet. Reasonably enjoyable though. Was weird not being able to just piss off with mates to go watch the England free online game come lunchtime – I had to slog on till 2pm :-p It’s a nice and relaxed place.

Been looking forward in last few days to attacking poker online, mainly because I know I feel fresh from such an extended break, and I know I’ve got my approach right again. I’m attempting to nit it up a bit and I took my first steps tonight playing Full Ring Rush on my short roll at Full Tilt. It’s not so short now. I shipped just shy of eleven buyins, only at NL25, but hey I’ll take it. Nice to eclipse my weekly wage in two hours on just the micro tables :-)

Going to get an awesome amount of sleep (damn 9-5 is hard!) and put the next part of my poker plan into action tomorrow. Good luck all :-)

Great weekend after good steady results

Monday morning started off with a bang and had a great result after booting up my 1st game online a Mirco MMT the ferguson and took it down for $386 which boost the funds to play with, ive had a dabble with a bigger buyins 45man and got some good wins there too and playing well and running hot…..

Right got to shoot!!! time for 6 tabling now so it pretty tricky on a laptop might need to invest in a new set up if things carry on as they are….

Pokers not been so clever dropping approx $200 since the last post partially drunk partially sober. However I had a bit of good fortune when I read a BBC Sport golf editors blog and he put up Tim Clark and Graeme McDowell for the US Open. Not large bets but £2 on Betfair @ 76/1 and £1 ew on WillHill @ 66/1. Nobody can accuse me of being the last of the big spenders but nevertheless a nice lil profit though I was knackered at work having stayed up til 2am to watch him see it out.

Not going to mention England’s performance in the World Cup as it’s been done to death everywhere and a decent result Wednesday will calm things down for a bit and if not . . . . . .

However having backed Chile for a few quid more than what I had on Mr McDowell they look like they should get through but will then have to face either Brazil or Portugal so there is a long long way to go yet and having watched todays free online game against Switzerland they are going to have to use their heads a bit more if they are going to progress.

Anyways that’s enough from me and I hope your all having a decent time.

Joke –

Paddy says to Mick “I’m being operated on tomorrow”.
Mick replies “Oh. What are they going to do?”
Paddy says “Circumcise me!”
Mick says “I had that done when I was a few days old.”
Paddy asks “Does it hurt?”
Mick replies “I couldn’t walk for a year!!”

Soooo, been a quiet month really. Went up to sheffield a few times, once for SUSOP – the annual sheffield student poker tournament. £50, usually gets about 40-50 people, a good laugh. Standard was pretty hilarious. The virtual game was open to anyone, so there were quite a few casino regulars giving free poker lessons, raise/folding with 8bbs and tutting when people moved allin pre. I bubbled, which lead to a chorus of smirks and smug comments after I’d declined to agree to pay out the entire final table (they were suggesting paying 10 out of 44!). Oh well.

I actually did pretty good out of the weekend though, made a few hundred playing 10p/20p (/40p/80p/1.60/3.20….) with my poker mates up there, and won every single flip for drinks and food; won 3 meals and a large number of drinks, so worked out a pretty cheap weekend. Thanks guys! :)

Went up again the next weekend for Peace in the Park, a mini-festival which is always fun. Nice music, sun shining, sitting on the grass. All good. Then was Peace After Dark which is the unofficial rave in the peaks afterwards which was great fun too.

Aaaanyways, so all this means I haven’t played much this month. Played half a dozen sessions I guess, was breakeven until yesterday, which was the worst sunday EVER. The worst of all the sundays. Played 60, had about 3 mincashes. So I’m basically taking the rest of the month off. Got UKIPT Killarney in a few days which will be great, Dan Dave Luke and Steve will be there for some pokery drinkery funtimes, and I feel like I might actually be able to stop myself spewing all over the place in the main event. Maybe. Another good thing is that a lot of the UK based sickos will be in vegas so should be even softer than normal which is nice.
